The North Wales Advice and Advocacy Association (NWAAA) provides independent advocacy services across Gwynedd to ensure that people with care and support needs have their voices heard and their rights protected. The organisation delivers an Independent Professional Advocacy (IPA) service under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act, supporting adults who may struggle to participate fully in decisions about their care and support.
The service is free for eligible individuals and is independent of social services, ensuring that support is impartial, confidential, and focused on the person’s wishes. Anyone, including the individual, a family member, carer, or professional, can make a referral. Through its work in Gwynedd, NWAAA promotes independence, equality, empowerment, and social inclusion, helping vulnerable people make informed decisions and have their rights respected.
